The pedals

Five pedals. Fifteen settings.

Each setting is one capture of one pedal, dialled in by hand. Load a pedal from the shelf and its settings come with it.

The controls

Three knobs and a footswitch.

Input

How hard you hit it.

Pushes your guitar into the capture harder or softer, the way your pick and volume knob do on the real pedal.

−12 to +12 dB

Tone

Darker or brighter.

A tilt around 800 Hz: turn it down for more body, up for more bite.

−6 to +6 dB

Level · Footswitch

How loud, and on or off.

Level sets the output. The footswitch engages the pedal with a short fade, so it never clicks.

level −24 to +12 dB · on/off
How it’s made

Real pedals, captured setting by setting.

Captured from hardware

Every setting starts as a real pedal on the bench, set by ear and captured through the actual circuit.

Modelled by a neural network

Each capture trains its own neural model, scored on how closely it matches what the pedal did.

Matched in loudness

All fifteen settings sit at the same level, so switching pedals changes the sound, not the volume.
