Who we are
This policy covers Murphy Research LLC (“Murphy Research”, “we”, “us”), the website murphyresearch.ai, your account, and our software, including the Coro plugins. We’re responsible for the personal data described here. For any privacy question or request, email joe@murphyresearch.ai.
What we collect, and why
1. Your account
Your email address and, if you give it, your name. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email address and profile picture) through our sign-in provider. We use this to create and run your account and to contact you about it.
2. Licences and activations
For each Mac you activate, we store:
- a one-way hash of a device identifier, computed on your Mac — not your hardware serial number, and not reversible into it;
- the Mac’s label (for example, “Joe’s Mac Studio”), so you can tell your machines apart;
- when it was activated and when it was last seen.
We also store which products you have and their status (trial, purchased, refunded). We use this to enforce the 3-Mac limit, let you deactivate a Mac, and keep your licence up to date.
The plugins contact our server only to sign in (a device code you confirm in your browser) and to refresh your licence, roughly every 30 days or when a trial ends. Audio never leaves your computer.
3. Contact form and waitlist
If you write to us or join a waitlist, we keep the name, email address and message you send. Contact-form messages are also emailed to our founder, Joe Pascual, so he can reply.
4. Purchases
Purchases are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We receive order details — the product, price, country and your email address — so we can issue your licence. We never see or store your card or other payment details. Paddle’s own privacy policy applies to the checkout.
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type and timestamps — which we use for security and debugging.
Who processes your data for us
- Supabase — our database and sign-in provider.
- Vercel — hosts the website and its server logs.
- AgentMail — sends contact-form messages to our inbox.
- Paddle — takes payments as our Merchant of Record; its own privacy policy applies to checkout.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
Cookies
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie we set is the essential session cookie that keeps you signed in.
Where your data is processed
Your data is processed in the United States. If you’re outside the US, using our services means your data is transferred there.
How long we keep it
- Account, licence and activation data: for as long as your account exists.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to reply and keep the conversation.
- Order records: as long as Paddle and tax law require, even after you delete your account.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete your account — your licences and activations are deleted with it (we keep the order records Paddle and tax law require); and
- export your data in a portable format.
Email joe@murphyresearch.ai from the address on your account and we’ll respond. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area), and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us their data, email joe@murphyresearch.ai and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll change the date at the top of the page. For material changes, we’ll also notify account holders by email.
